This morning after dropping everyone off at preschool I went to use a gift card someone had given our family for a store that isn't anywhere near our home. As fate would have it I got there about 10 minutes before the store opened and looked across the parking lot to see a Barnes and Noble. I decided to go grab a cup of Java from starbucks and see if they had any AG trading cards in (great stocking stuffers~~they had some new limited edition collector sticker packs of Molly, Kaya and Kit for $1.50 each!!) Anyways when I walked in I saw that they where having a "Felicity" event later on today at 3pm. I wasn't sure if I would come back or not since it is about 40-45 minutes from our house and my daughter had Basketball practice tonight but it was an early release day so maybe. When I was leaving the lady in the Childrens sections said I hope we see you later which made me want to come back even more. I thought I'd drop the boys off at my hubbys work which was on the way but ran out of time. They love Barnes and Noble anyways and my 5 year old son (Who is very masculine in many ways)circles all the stuff he wants everytime we get a new AG catalog (much to the horror of my DH). Well we went. The boys had fun making fans and old fashioned toys and then my 5 year old son won the drawing for an Elizabeth doll!!!! Crazy Crazy Crazy. At first I think we all thought well he'll just give it to his sister but nooooooooooooo. The two of them and their dolls are all sleeping together as I write! My DH would never let me have bought my son a doll so it must have been fate.

We need more males that are affectionate and respectful of their female counterparts. AG can help!!!
Your boys have an awesome mom!!! (and lucky to boot!!!)

Oh my gosh! How funny is that? Did his sister take it well? Did you already have an Elizabeth?
What a great story! This is one to share with his girlfriends when he's about 16. I get a lot of joy out of sharing the story of my 17-yr. old son's baby Ho-Ho. ( A baby doll Ho-Ho brought him for Christmas when he was two.)

What a way to get playdates with girls when he's a little older. I'll bet your DH would like that aspect

No we did not have Elizabeth...yet. My Daughter wanted Kaya forever and I thought once she got her that would be it, we'd collect the Kaya stuff. A little here, a little there. Boy was I wrong. She finally got Kaya last Christmas. She saved her money and we did the "Day at AGPC" and she bought Kitthis summer. I have Marisol and Kirsten hiding in the attic for Christmas and her Birthday!
About how she is handling it. For a few seconds she was over the moon with excitement assuming he would just pass it along to her. Then I told her I needed to think about it because he was just hugging and loving Elizabeth like she was a long lost member of the family! And now she is his new best friend:-), wheeling and dealing but getting nowhere!

Awww...let him keep her. I bet he just wants to be like his sister and mommy. Plus...just think of how cool he must have felt when he won!!!!
My son used to do some things with me and DD that DH could barely deal with! LOL!!! He's 17 now, and let me tell you...very much a guy.
